TN's Tidbits: Iggles vs. Puritans in the Super Bowl?

December 19, 2010

Let's see. The Eagles beat the Giants 38-31 today after trailing 31-10 in the third quarter. DeSean Jackson did his Muhammad Ali impersonation, begging the Giants' punter to keep the ball in-bounds with 14 seconds left, and then he ran 65 yards for the winning touchdown. He is the greatest (kick returner).

Jackson is a very modern player with enormous talent. Nobody makes more big plays in the open field than this guy. He was a bit of a troubled student-athlete in college at California and fell to the second round, where the Eagles took a chance on him.

The Eagles are known to take chances on shaky individuals. You may have heard about the Michael Vick signing by now. Vick ran for 130 yards, most of them in the fourth quarter as the Iggles came back from 21 points down.

I'm predicting an Iggles-New England Puritans Super Bowl matchup.

This just in: the Jets hung on to beat the Steelers, in Pittsburgh, another game that went down to the final play. They needed to win today to keep their playoff hopes on firm footing. Pittsburgh's loss and Baltimore's win gets the Ravens back into the AFC North title hunt.

And now the Puritans are getting ready to take the field up in Foxboro. Been a full day of football for me. -- Terry Nau
