Aram Carey

UXBRIDGE- Aram Carey, 78, of Granite Street, died Monday Dec. 20 in the loving care of St. Camillus Health Center following a long battle with cancer.
Aram was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Woonsocket, RI, son of Thomas and Agnes Carey of Blackstone, MA, with siblings Horace, Anatole, and Andrew Carey. Aram married his teenage sweetheart, Jeannine Jen M. (Kappelle) Carey on August 11, 1951, sharing 59 years together as husband and wife. His love lives on in the hearts of his three sons; Alan, Wayne and Glen Carey, as well as his two daughters; Gail Carey and Deborah (Carey) Froehlich, along with their spouses and significant partners. Aram also leaves 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Aram was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville for 38 years, being a charter member of the USWA Union, serving as Vice-President. He was active in the community serving as a District Commissioner to the Boy Scouts of America of the Narragansett Council for many years.
Aram, and his wife Jen, spent their winters in North Port, Florida, where they enjoyed their snowbird home. Aram had many interests/hobbies, some of which included; gardening, electronics, auto maintenance, and motorcycling. Aram was musically talented. He had a beautiful singing voice, and played the guitar, piano, and accordion. Aram will be missed by all who loved him.
According to Aram's wishes, funeral services will be private. A memorial celebration of his life with Full Military Honors will be held in his favorite season.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his name, to St. Camillus Health Center, Rehab. Dept., 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA 01588. Buma Funeral Home, Uxbridge.
