BURRILLVILLE- Paul S. Zifcak, 90, of Pascoag, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Kent County Hospital. He was the husband of Mary C. (Black) Zifcak whom he married Mar 31, 1946.
Born in Harrisville, he was the son of the late Philip and Frances (Dlugos) Zifcak.
Paul worked as an electrician for many years, retiring in 1982 at age 62. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Deborah Habershaw and her husband Bill, of Pascoag, three brothers, John Zifcak of Johnston, Edward Zifcak of Gardner, MA and Raymond Zifcak of Burrillville, three sisters, Margaret Gerlack of Kent, WA, Madeline Hopkins of Burrillville and Eleanor Choiniere of Pascoag, two grandchildren, Nicole Cole and Matthew Gauthier, and four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kendra, Timothy and Stephen. He was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Philip Zifcak Jr. and one sister Edna Begin.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at 10 am in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 10 am in the funeral home.
