BURRILLVILLE- Bernard J. Keegan, 89, of Harrisville, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Loretta C. (Tetreault) Keegan.
Born in Harrisville, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Rhea (Cabana) Keegan.
Bernard worked in the textile industry and also as an arborist. He served in the US Navy for 6 years and was a Veteran of WWII.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald B. Keegan of Harrisville and Donald J. Keegan of North Fort Meyers, FL, two brothers, Edward F. Keegan of Uxbridge, MA and Russell Keegan of Woonsocket, and one sister, Rosalyn O'Neil of Seattle, WA. He was predeceased by a son, Gary Keegan and brother Millard Keegan.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at 10 am in
St. Patrick's Church, 45 Main St. Harrisville. Military honors will follow the Mass. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave, Pascoag. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906 or the Salvation Army, c/o Betty Barrington, 201 Pitman St, Providence, RI 02907.
