NORTH SMITHFIELD- Alice B. Labossiere-Sweeney, 94, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late John Sweeney and Henry Labossiere.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Louis and Rosanna (Lamothe) Cabana. She was formerly of Cumberland and Pascoag.
Alice worked as a Senior Atttendant at Zambarano Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Royal Travelers and Christian Group of Woonsocket.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including her niece and caregiver Aline Durand, of Cumberland. She was predeceased by six brothers, Joseph, Daniel, Arthur, Moise, Henry and George Cabana and six sisters, Delia L'Esperance, Rose Coauette, Theresa Curtz, Berthile Dauphinais, Cecile Leclaire and Blanche Carey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Burrillville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave, Pascoag.
