WARWICK- Doucet, Sister Margaret Mary, RJM, (Fernande Doucet), age 79, a resident of St. Timothy Mission Center, Lake Shore Drive, Warwick, passed into Eternal Life on Monday, January 3, 2011.
Born in Woonsocket, the daughter of Adjutor and Albanie (St. Germain) Doucet, she made profession as a Religious of Jesus & Mary on August 11, 1953. Sister Margaret Mary served as a teacher and principal in Catholic schools in Woonsocket and Providence, and as a superior in many of her order's mission centers.
Her brother, Joseph Doucet of Port Orange, FL, pre-deceased her on July 27, 2010. She is survived by her nieces, Lorry Doucet of Lancaster, MA and Lisa Doucet of Cape Coral, FL; her sister-in-law, Ethel Doucet of Port Orange, FL; as well as her community of religious sisters.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 6, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-5 p.m. Burial will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Religious of Jesus & Mary, Haiti Fund, 125 Michigan Avenue, N.E., 4th Floor, Washington, D.C. 20017.
