Hendricken whips Woonsocket cagers

Flavio Barros and his Woonsocket teammates battled hard but couldn't keep up with Hendricken on Friday night.

WARWICK – Bishop Hendricken had no problems with Woonsocket Friday night en route to a 61-40 victory over the Villa Novans. The loss drops Woonsocket to 1-6 in Division I-North while the Hawks improve to 4-2 in league play.
Cody L’Hureux finished with eight points to lead Woonsocket while Flavio Barros chipped in with seven.

Quakers dump Davies
LINCOLN – Behind 28 points from Adam Thiesen and 26 from Michael Cavallaro, Moses Brown rolled past Davies Tech Friday night, 65-43. The loss drops the Patriots to 0-6 in Division III play while the Quakers improve to 3-4.

Tiverton tops Lincoln
LINCOLN – Tiverton broke open a one-point game at halftime to win by a 44-34 final over Lincoln Friday night at the Lions’ Den. The loss drops the Lions to 2-4 in Division II-East while the Tigers now stand at 5-1 in league play.
Lincoln, which played Friday’s game minus the services of one of its better scorers in Ryan Musket (illness), received 13 points from Mike Akanji. Tiverton’s Ben Bergandy led all scorers with 22 points.

Northmen fall short
NORTH SMITHFIELD – North Smithfield’s comeback bid went for not as Juanita Sanchez held on for a 68-65 win Friday night. The loss drops the Northmen to 2-4 in Division III, 2-8 overall.
North Smithfield, which fought back from a 31-17 halftime deficit, received 16 points and 12 rebounds from Matt Walkow while Nate Lussier pumped in 19 points. For Juanita Sanchez Evan Hopson finished with a game-best 22 points.
