NEDERLAND, CO. - Daniel "Dan the Man" Michael Riley, 24, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 following an automobile accident in Nederland, CO.
Daniel was born July 19, 1986 in Fontana, Calif., and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC. He lived his final 2 years in Nederland, CO, a place that he loved and where he found the love of his life, best friend and fiance, Nicole Bratsos of Blackstone, MA, whom he cherished and adored.
He will be sadly missed by his loving parents, John "Jack" Riley Jr. and Celeste (Horent) Riley; and sister, Katie. He was beloved by his grandparents, Dorothy (Cecconi) Riley, and Armand Horent, his uncles, Timothy Riley, Terrence Riley, and Richard Horent; his aunts Priscilla (Riley) McAllister, Fay Riley-Mickley, Jennifer (Riley) Finlay, Elizabeth Riley, Sarah Riley, and Claire (Horent) Carls. He was grandson of the late John Riley Sr. and the late Louella (Robidoux) Horent,
Daniel is also survived by 14 loving cousins, all of whose lives he touched with his free spirit, his kind heart, sense of humor, and his love of nature. He will also be missed by his close friends, including the Pyrates, who were always like family to him.
In honor and in memory of Daniel, his parents and family respectfully held a celebration of his life on December 19, 2010, at a beach house in North Myrtle Beach. A beautiful memorial service was delivered at sunset. A mass intention will be held at St. Joseph Church, Woonsocket, RI on January 21, 2011 at 7:30am and another mass on June 25, 2011 at 4:00pm.
