CUMBERLAND- Yvette E. (Potvin) Coutu, 95, of Chimney Hill Apartments, passed away Friday, January 14, in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Rodolphe Coutu.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Moise and Arselia (Forand) Potvin and she was the last survivor of twelve siblings. She resided in Cumberland for the past 18 years, previously residing in Woonsocket.
Mrs. Coutu was a member of the Chimney Hill Tenants Association. She loved painting, and many of her paintings were on display at various locations in the area. She also loved dancing, playing Bingo, but most of all enjoyed laughing at a good joke.
She leaves her beloved daughter, Suzanne Seaules of North Smithfield, five grandchildren, one neice, and several great-nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Roger Coutu.
A celebration of her life will be held from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland with visiting hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. A prayer service will be celebrated at 7 PM.
In leiu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Miriam Hospital Foundation, Cardiac Program, PO Box H, Providence, RI 02901-9979.
