WOONSOCKET- Roland E. Hudon 65, of Rodman St. died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Doris (Boisvert) Hudon.
Roland was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Elphege and Marie (Cotnoir) Hudon.
He worked for the Providence and Worcester Railroad for thirty years as the maintenance manager, retiring in July of 2010. Roland was the former commander of the St. Joseph Veterans Club, he was an avid bowler and loved to play cards.
Besides his wife of forty five years, he is survived by three children, Roland Hudon Jr. and his wife Barbara of Harrisville, Donna Briggs and her husband Nelson, and Jeffrey Hudon and his wife Danielle all of Attleboro, MA, a sister Jeanne Coutcher of Woonsocket, and six grandchildren, Kerstin, Rebecca, Storm, Taylor, Savannah, and Jeffrey Jr. He was predeceased by three sisters Doris Geoffroy, Laurette Bucci, and Therese Oberzol, two brothers Roger and Leo Hudon, and a grandchild Kyle, the twin of Jeffrey Jr.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8 PM.
