Kathleen P. Lappin

PROVIDENCE- Mrs. Kathleen P. Lappin, R.N. 85, of Providence and formerly of Oakland, died Jan. 18, 2011 at the Hallworth House, Providence. She was the wife of the late William J. Lappin, former state Representative.
Born in Oakland, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Crook) Byrne.
Kathleen was a graduate of the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked many years for Dr. Ernest J. Smith in Oakland. She also worked at and retired from Zambarano Hospital.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Lappin of Rumford, Mary Caparaso of FL and Eileen Lappin of NY; four grandchildren, Bethany Caparaso, Zachary Caparaso, Mara Langholtz and William Langholtz and a sister, Margaret Pacheco of ME.
She was the sister of the late Mary Mae Medbery, Hester Deptula, Edward Byrne and Eileen Latendresse.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of Good Help Church. Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery in Pascoag. Calling hours are prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the RI Community Food Bank (rifoodbank.org).
