James L. Ranslow Jr.

MILLVILLE- James L. Ranslow Jr., 88, of Millville died Wed. Jan. 19, 2011 in the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. He was the husband of Viola M. (Fierley) Ranslow.
Mr. Ranslow was employed for 30 years at the Wyman Gordon Co. in Grafton until his retirement.
A lifelong resident of Millville, he was born Aug. 6, 1922 in Millville, a son of the late James and Tessie (Kroll) Ranslow Sr. and had attended the Millville School System.
Mr. Ranslow served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific.
Mr. & Mrs. Ranslow observed their 59th wedding anniversary in 2010.
James was a volunteer at the Millville Fire Dept. for 18 years, Boy Scouts of America, and Little League Baseball. He was a member of the Council on Aging, the Polish American Club and the Millville Senior Center. He was a life long member of St. Johns Episcopal Church.
In addition to his wife Viola, he is survived by two sons; Thomas J. and his wife Patti Ranslow of Uxbridge and Ronald E. and his wife Jo-Ann Ranslow of Pepperell, one daughter-in-law Linda Ranslow of Pittsford, NY, one brother Robert Ranslow of Blackstone, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Timothy R. Ranslow and two brothers; Raymond Ranslow and Norman Ranslow.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at 10:30 AM from the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge, MA followed by services at 11:30 AM in St. Johns Episcopal Church, 49 Central St., Millville 01529.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 from 2-4 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Johns Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 395, Millville, MA 01529.
