WOONSOCKET- Raymond J. Godin, 89, of St. Leon Ave., died peacefully January 19, 2011 in St. Antoine's Residence, No. Smithfield.
Born in Linwood, MA, he was the eldest child of Felix and Roseanna (Gagne) Godin.
He resided most of his life in Woonsocket having been employed in his working years at St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, American Tourister, Brickett Corporation and Metal Box Industries.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ann (Frappier) Godin and his second wife, Albeauma (Woodward) Godin. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Raymond and Jane Godin of NH, his step-daughter and her husband, Rotha and Normand Valois of Woonsocket, his step-daughter and her husband, Rita and David Lowe of NV. He also leaves two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Godin) and her husband Paul Bolduc of NH and Jonathan Godin of NC. Mr. Godin has one great grandson, Carter of NH.
Mr. Godin is also survived by his brother, Gerard Godin of Woonsocket and his sister Mary Jane Cantara of Warwick, along with many nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
He will be remembered for his caring nature and warm and welcoming smile and laughter.
His funeral service will be held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Calling hours are Sunday from 2- 4PM and
6 - 8PM.
