WOONSOCKET Edmond A. "White" Boisclair, 92, of Woonsocket, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the beloved husband for 64 years of Rita D. (Tetreault) Boisclair.
Born in Woonsocket on October 25, 1918, he was the son of the late Ovide and Cordelia (Tessier) Boisclair.
He was the loving father of Paul A. Boisclair and his wife Barbara of Milford, MA and the late Rene E. Boisclair deceased in 2002. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Rochelle Thomson and fianc Justin Morgan, Kenneth Boisclair and his wife Kristie, Pamela Lanctot, Megan Boisclair, and great-grandchildren, Kadin Boisclair and Cody Lanctot. He was the brother of Lillian Grabathy of North Smithfield and the late Arsene, Edgar, Roland and Leo Boisclair and the late Cecile Chabot.
A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, he owned and operated Boisclair Lock & Safe from Jan. 26, 1946 until retiring as the city locksmith and tool sharpener for over 50 years. A World War II U.S. Army Veteran of Battery C 243rd Coast Artillery Battalion attaining the rank of Corporal, he received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was a life member of the AMVETS.
He was a communicant of All Saints Church. Mr. & Mrs. Boisclair enjoyed traveling in their RV making many trips to Florida and the New England States. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, January 28, at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are on Thursday, January 27, from 5 to 8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
