WOONSOCKET- Robert W. LaForest, 81, passed away on January 18, 2011 at The Friendly Home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Cecile (Drouin) LaForest.
Born in Woonsocket on April 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie Anne (Rainville) LaForest.
He was the loving father of Robin Darling and her husband Daniel, Nancy Soto and her husband Humberto, Michael Keyes, Joseph Drouin, Walter LaForest and his wife Julie, all of Woonsocket. He also leaves his cherished 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Raymond and Richard LaForest, Linda Gouin, all of Woonsocket, Lucille Perry of Cumberland and the late Joseph LaForest, Claire Coutu and Helen Aubuchon.
He was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket and was a mechanic at Bernards Auto Parts for many years until retiring. He loved saltwater fishing. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 29, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Arrangements are under the direction of CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, Bellingham, MA
