WOONSOCKET- Ralph N. Belleville, 85, of Woonsocket, died Monday, January 24, 2011 in St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of Marion E. (Nichols) Belleville. They were married for over sixty-two years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Onesiphore and Winifred (Perreault) Belleville. He lived in Woonsocket for his entire life.
Ralph proudly served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. He served onboard ships that carried soldiers to Normandy and other foreign battlefields in both the European and Pacific Theatres. He was a meat manager for twenty-five years for the former First National Stores, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Woonsocket Senior Pitch League and enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Blackstone Senior Center on Friday afternoons. Ralph was a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars and other veteran organizations.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Ralph A. Belleville and his wife Laura of Lincoln, a daughter, Susan Lefrancois and her husband J. David of Cumberland, and his grandson, John Lefrancois, Jr. He also leaves a sister, Helen Belleville of Evansville, IN. He was the brother of the late John Belleville and Adele Lahousse.
His funeral, beginning with visitation at 9:30AM, will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 with a service following at 10:30AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ralph's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
