UXBRIDGE- Katherine A. (Putnam) Choquette, 54, died Tuesday, January 25, in the Tippett Home, Needham following an illness.
She is survived by her husband, Robert V. Choquette; a son, Ethan E. Putnam, of Shrewsbury; her mother, Shirley (Magaw) Putnam, of Whitinsville; a brother, Russell Putnam, Jr., of Richmond, TX, seven sisters, Cynde Cleary, of Medway, Sally Tominski, of Milford, Esther Magliocca, of Boxboro, Wanda Harper, of Roscoe, IL, Shelly Lemire, of Cumberland, RI, Elizabeth Kingman, of Leominster, and June Goldsmith, of San Francisco; five grandchildren, Emerald Harwood, Nicholas Collins, and Isabella, Ethan and Samantha Putnam; six step-children, nine step-grandchildren, and a step great granddaughter.
Mrs. Choquette was born in Waltham, September 2, 1956 a daughter of Russell Putnam. She grew up in Natick and Hopedale, and had lived in Uxbridge since 1996
She graduated from Hopedale High School in 1974, from Newbury College in 1977, and from Framingham State College in 2002.
She was a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Lincoln Rhode Island High School for the past nine years, and in 2004, she was named the Rhode Island Teacher of the Year. Prior to teaching, she had several positions in retailing and import/export administration.
Mrs. Choquette belonged to the American Association of Family and Consumer Science Teachers, and Phi Epsilon Omicron, National Honor Society in Home Economics.
A celebration of Mrs. Coquette's Life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 29, in the Village Congregational Church, 25 Church St., Whitinsville, MA. Calling hours will be 4-7 PM, Friday, January 28, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville.
