WOONSOCKET- Roland R. Rainville 82, of Burrington St. died Monday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Claire E. (Arsenault) Rainville.
Mr. Rainville was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Elce and Rose (Riendeau) Rainville, and foster son of the late Aurore (Riendeau) Plante.
He was an incinerator operator for Englehard Industries in Plainville for twenty years before retiring in 1994, he also worked as a frame spinner for the former French Worsted Co. for twenty two years and the Bonin Spinning Co. for eight years. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. Mr. Rainville's favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren play baseball and never missed a game. He enjoyed camping and spending time in Florida, he was also an avid wrestling fan.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Robert Rainville and Regina, Rene Rainville, Richard Rainville all of Woonsocket, and Ronald Rainville and Lisa of Cumberland, four daughters Suzanne Peloquin and her husband Paul, Constance Lamoureux and her husband Wayne, Rachelle Rainville, and Lorraine Cotnoir and her husband David all of Woonsocket, three sisters Rita Gauthier of Bellingham, Therese Laquerre and Cecile Cote both of Woonsocket, foster siblings Al Plante, Pauline Dubois, and Jeannette Auclair, eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason, Melissa, TJ, Jennifer, Ashley, Justin, and Brandon and five great -grandchildren, Hezekiah, Janet, Emmanuel, Landon, and Brody. He was predeceased by his brothers Clem and Eddie Rainville, and foster siblings Oscar Plante and Theresa Pincince.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
