WOONSOCKET- Roland A. Neveu 85, of Reed Ave. died Monday at Philip Hulitar Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Constance C. (Boutiette) Neveu.
Born February 27, 1925 in Woonsocket, the son of the late Albert and Glorianna (Bruneault) Neveu. Mr. Neveu lived in Woonsocket all of his life and attended Woonsocket Schools.
He was a die cutter for Allied Container in Dedham MA for over twenty five years before retiring twenty three years ago. He had previously worked at Narragansett Knitting Mills. After retiring, he worked part time at Landmark Medical Center and was a pallbearer at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home.
Mr. Neveu was an Army Veteran of WWII and awarded the Purple Heart. He was
a member of the DAV, the American Legion, and the Italian Working Men's Club. He was a parishioner of All Saints Parish. Mr. Neveu always looked forward to his vacations at the Cape and Hampton Beach and enjoyed spending time with his family and great grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters Rachel Neveu of Woonsocket , Diane Riordan and her husband Wallace of Greenville, and Celeste Neveu of Milford, a brother Paul Neveu of N. Smithfield, two sisters Gertrude Sitnik of VT, and Violet Neveu of Woonsocket, four grandchildren Nicole Lamoureux, Peter Bottachiari, Anne Britt and Sean Riordan, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Elaine Bottachiari.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Home & Hospice Care of RI, Philip Hulitar Center, 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI 02904 in his memory would be appreciated.
