WOONSOCKET- Demetre "Jimmy" Zervas, 79, of Winter St., died Feb., 9, 2011 at the Landmark Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Petrula (Papadopoulos) Zervas.
Born July 17, 1931 in Veria, Greece, a son of the late Lambri and Polixeni (Chiara) Zerva.
He worked in the maintenance and construction department for Cumberland Farms for several years. He was an avid gardener.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Harry and John Zervas both of Lincoln; two daughters, Caliopi "Linda" Francesconi of Lincoln and Helena Lambrakis of Brooklyn, NY; brother Nicholas Zerva of Woonsocket; two sisters, Anastasia Adams of Woonsocket and Iliana Pandositis of Greece; ten grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, John, Katarina, Alexi, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Talia, Alana and Iliana.
He was the brother of the late John Zerva.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 am from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket with a Service at 11 am in St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, Elbow St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church. Calling hours are Friday 4-8 pm
