LINCOLN - Raymond N. Parent, 89 of Sayles Hill Road, Manville died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Therese J. (Leduc) Parent.
Born in Mohegan, RI, a son of the late Alexandre and Zainaide (Jolicoeur) Parent, he had lived in Manville for the past 66 years.
A communicant of St. James Church, Manville, Mr. Parent was the sexton of the Church for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Lincoln Council #4005, Knights of Columbus, Lincoln.
A World War II Army veteran serving in the Medical Corps, he was a member of Alphonse Yelle Post #9, American Legion, Manville.
He is survived by one son, Normand A. Parent of Woonsocket; one sister, Simone Mathieu of Woonsocket; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Richard P. Parent and Doris Parent and the brother of the late Paul Parent and Sr. Doris Parent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21 at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. James Cemetery, Manville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln SUNDAY 4-7 P.M.
