MANVILLE- Emile A. Bedard, 74, of Old River Rd., died Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Oakland Grove Health Care Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Barbara (Cook) Bedard whom he married September 6, 1954.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Theodore and Clara (Comeau) Bedard.
Mr. Bedard worked as a Custodian for the Lincoln School Department, retiring in 1997, and was previously employed at Baker Nail in Framingham, MA. A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery. He was a member of the Elk's, Woonsocket and the Manville Sportsman's Club.
Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by a son, Daniel Bedard and his wife Lisa of Manville, a daughter, Debra Keough and her husband Frank of No. Smithfield, three grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Keough and LeeAnna Bedard and a great grandson, Thomas Fraioli, III. He was the brother of the late Leo Bedard, Rita Harris and Jeanne Marzini.
His funeral will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 9:30AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8PM.
