NORTH SMITHFIELD- Beatrice L. (Cook) Hunt, 87, of Mendon Rd., died Monday, February 21, 2011 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Joseph Hunt.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Herbert V. and Ellen Beatrice (Steere) Cook.
Mrs. Hunt worked forty-six years for the former New England Telephone Co., now Verizon, retiring in 1986. She was a lifetime member of the Verizon Pioneers.
A devoted matriarch to her family, she is survived by two daughters, Ann E. McCusker and her husband, Robert of Woonsocket and Beatrice E. Theroux of No. Kingstown, a sister, Jane White of Warwick, five grandchildren, Kelly, Trisha, Michael, Amy and Peter and five great grandchildren, Amanda, Aaron, Alissa, Leah and Gabriel.
Her funeral will be held Friday, February 25, 2011, beginning with visitation at 10:30AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beacon Hospice, Inc, One Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
