WOONSOCKET- Robert J. Hogue, 84, of Read Ave, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. He was the husband of Therese (Patenaude) Hogue, whom he married July 2, 1949.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lucien and Dora (Lacourse) Hogue.
Mr. Hogue was a Letter Carrier for twenty-six years for the U.S. Post Office in Woonsocket, retiring in 1983. Mr. Hogue served in the Army Air Force and was also a member of the Air National Guard at Quonset Point, where he serviced planes. He enjoyed puzzles, taking pictures, writing letters, and doing odd jobs around the house with his beloved dog Ginger by his side.
Besides his wife Therese, he is survived by a son, Donald Hogue and his wife Paula of Woonsocket, two daughters, Carol Stearns and her husband Michael of Glendale, and Joyce Bandilla of Titusville, FL, two brothers, Bertrand Hogue of No. Smithfield and Leo Hogue of Dayville, CT, six sisters, Rolande Gentes of Bellingham, Florence Brissette of Tampa, FL, Marcella Caracino and Denise Lamoureux of Woonsocket, Marie O'Brien of Port St. Lucie, FL and Dora Barbeau of Smithfield, and six grandchildren, Todd Richards, Heather Bonshire, Chad and Cory Berthiaume, and Amy and Adam Hogue.
His funeral will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RJM Haiti Mission Fund, 125 Michigan Ave. NW 4th Fl, Washington, DC 20017-1004.
