MILLVILLE, MA- Ralph J. "Midge" Anderson, 87, of Millville passed away Wed. Feb. 23, 2011 at home. He was the husband of the late Laura (Richardson) Anderson.
A lifelong resident of Millville, he was a longtime radio engineer at the former WWON radio station in Woonsocket, RI for over 20 years.
He was born in Millville on Jan. 11, 1924, the son of the late Ralph and Aagot (Kristensen) Anderson and was a graduate of Blackstone High School. He later was a graduate of radio engineering school in RI.
Mr. Anderson was an avid golfer and proud of his 5 hole-in-ones over the years. He enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida with his wife.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his 4 brothers Raymond J. and his wife Shirley Anderson of Millville, MA, Gordon D. and his wife Carol Anderson of Fort Mills, SC, Norman and his wife Ruth Anderson of Jensen Beach, FL, and Paul and his wife Barbara Anderson of N. Smithfield, RI; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Evelyn Titherington and Esther Matteson.
Funeral services will be held Sunday Feb. 27, 2011 at 2 PM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge, MA 01569. Visiting hours will be Sun. from 1-2 PM prior to the funeral service in the funeral home.
