BELLINGHAM- Joann E. (Hill) Halnon, 71, of Bellingham, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center, with family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 50 years of John D. Halnon, Jr.
She was born in Framingham, MA on January 3, 1940 the daughter of the late Robert and Esther (Doherty) Hill. She was the loving mother of John A. Halnon of Norton, MA, Robert Halnon of Leakey, TX, Jill Whitcomb of Attleboro, MA, Maryjo Woodworth of Deer Valley, UT, Christopher Halnon of Northbridge, MA, and Susan Clements of Kissimmee, FL; and her cherished grandchildren, Brian, Eric, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Brandon, Brandi, Jessica, Giana, and Tyler; and great-granddaughter Ella. She was the sister of John Hill of Milford, MA and Roberta Wheeler of Brewster, MA. Also, her dog Lily.
A resident of Bellingham and Johnson, VT, formerly of Framingham, MA, Joann was an administrative assistant for Guerriere & Halnon, Inc. of Franklin, MA for many years until retiring in 2002, and also worked at Bellingham Dental. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Woonsocket, RI. She enjoyed gardening, music and singing. Most of all, she cherished and spoiled her grandchildren. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 12, at 9:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Road, Woonsocket, RI. Visiting hours are on Friday, March 11, from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private.
