WOONSOCKET- Clarinda Vaillant 75, of Greene St. died Thursday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Philias Vaillant.
Mrs Vaillant was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Cyprien and Clarinda (Plourde) Dion.
She worked in shipping and receiving for McCarthy's, Kornstein's and Social Department Store for many years. Mrs. Vaillant was an avid cat lover who enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, and collecting Barbie Dolls, postcards, and lighthouses.
She is survived by three sons, Paul Vaillant of Lewiston, ME, Norman Vaillant of Johnston, Camille Vaillant of Bellingham, MA, two daughters, Claire (Lorraine) Vaillant and Yvonne R. Neri both of Woonsocket, six grandchildren, Keith M. Swiech of Pascoag, Cathy DePaula of Bellingham, Pamela Gerry of Bowdoinham, ME, Jeffrey R Roy of Woonsocket, Dawn Costa and Doreen Millette both of Bellingham, and five great-grandchildren Mya, Steven and Noah Gerry of Bowdoinham, ME, Robert "Tre" Ciolfi of Bellingham and Courtney O'Leary of Bellingham. She was also the sister of the late Albert and Doris Dion.
A Committal Service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home. Please visit
