SMITHFIELD- Dorothy M. (Creighton) Salome, 78, of Hunters Knoll, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Greenville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late George J. Salome, Sr.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Julia (Carey) Creighton.
Mrs. Salome was a Bookkeeper for ten years for the former Herb Harris Law Office, Providence.
She is survived by a son, George Salome, Jr. of Lincoln, four daughters, Nancy and Donna Couture, both of Harrisville, Judith Woodstock of Coventry and Anne Marie Maguire of Smithfield and nine granchildren. She was the sister of the late Barbara Tryhubczak and Kathleen Jalette and grandmother of the late Erica Desautels.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Slatersville. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm Street, Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erica Desautels Scholarship Fund, c/o Anne Marie Maguire, Hunters Knoll, Smithfield, RI 02917.
