John C. Kraus

MILLVILLE - John C. Kraus, 87, of West St. died Sat. March 26, at Milford Regional Medical Center. His wife of 57 years Josephine C. (Sitnik) Kraus died Sept. 9, 2005.
He is survived by his daughter Marlene A. Kraus-Uhde and her husband Thomas W. Uhde M.D. of Charleston, S. Carolina; a grandson Miles A. Uhde of Narragansett, R.I. and a granddaughter Katherine K. Uhde of Charleston, S. Carolina. He was predeceased by his sisters Ann, Shirley and Frances.
Born in Uxbridge on Aug. 4, 1923, he was the son of Fritz and Margaret (Creighton) Kraus and has lived in Millville since 1955. John worked in the forge shop at the Wyman Gordon Corp. of Grafton for many years. Mr. Kraus was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran, he was a member of the VFW Post 1385 in Uxbridge and the American Legion of Millville. John was an avid Duke Basketball fan, enjoyed playing horseshoes and spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Tue. March 29, from the Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home 35 Snowling Rd Uxbridge with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St Augustines Church Lincoln St Millville. Burial will be at a later date. A calling hour at the the funeral home will be held on Tue.
