WOONSOCKKET - Simonne H. (Tanguay) Touchette, 93, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Touchette.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Raphael and Rose (Ayotte) Tanguay. She had lived nearly fifty years in Woonsocket.
She worked as a salesperson at the former Social Department Store and Lillie Baram's, both in Woonsocket.
She is survived by a son, Joseph T. Touchette and his wife, Carolyn of Richmond, VT, two daughters, Paula Morrison and her husband, Philip of East Orleans, MA and Denise Pelletier and her husband, Peter of Swansea, MA, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Suzanne Smith and sister of the late Paul and Tony Tanguay, Isabelle Morrisette, Corinne Graves, Alice Clear, Gabrielle Darcey and Sr. Prudence Tanguay.
Her funeral will be Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
