BLACKSTONE- Walter H. Emery, Jr., 74, of Blackstone, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Lynn, MA on April 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Walter and Mildred (Haskell) Emery.
He was the father of Susan Chita of Blackstone, MA, Stephen Emery of St. Paul, MN and Michael Emery of Attleboro, MA. He leaves his grandchildren, Jason Beaulieu, Amanda Chita, Christopher Emery, Ryan Emery, Jennifer Tricaico and great-granddaughter, Abagail Slowe. He was the brother of Donald H. Emery of Boston, MA.
A resident of Blackstone, he was formerly of St. Paul, MN, Pace, FL, Bellingham, and Lynn, MA. Walter worked at Polaroid in Waltham, MA for 20 years until retiring in 1980. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served on the USS C.R. Ware and received the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal, and was a member of the VFW Post 7272 of Bellingham. He was avid car racing fan.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 1:30PM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting time from 12 to 1:30PM prior to service.
