WOONSOCKET- Marc C. Lauzon, 63, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Westerly Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 43 years of Suzanne H. (Boucher) Lauzon.
Born in Woonsocket on December 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Walter and Juliette (Chartier) Lauzon. He was the loving father of Keith Lauzon and his wife Susan of Westerly, Todd Lauzon and his wife Christina of Woonsocket; and his cherished grandchildren Marc, Nicholas, and Owen Lauzon. He was the brother of Paul Lauzon and his wife Linda of Woonsocket and the late Pierre Lauzon and his wife Sandra of Delores, CO.
Marc was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket, he was a graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts and Science Class of 1978 and member of the NEI Third Generation Club. He was a funeral director for the Joseph Lauzon & Sons Funeral Home in Woonsocket, which was established in 1911 by his grandfather. He also worked at Lowe's in Woonsocket for the past several years.
He was a life member and past Exalted Ruler for the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks P.O.E. 850, a member of the Cercle Laurier, IWC of Woonsocket, and Past Master of the Mount Moriah Lodge #8, and member of the Clown Unit of the Shriners of RI, he was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Woonsocket Harris Public Library, also he was a former member of the Woonsocket Rotary. Mr. Lauzon served as a State Representative District 65 from 1991 - 1996. He served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard during Vietnam. Marc was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking and cooking. He will be missed by all.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 1:00PM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting time prior to service from 10:30AM to 1:00PM.
