BURRILLVILLE - Edward D. "Ted" Collins, 69, of Harrisville, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Milford Hospital, Milford, MA. He was the husband of Lucy (LaFlamme) Collins, whom he married July 2, 1977.
Born in Providence, he was the son of William and Mary (Danahey) Collins.
Ted worked at Zambarano Hospital for more than thirty years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Besides his wife, Ted is survived by two sons, Herbert Hopkins III and Shane Hopkins, both of Harrisville, one daughter, Deborah Sostre of North Providence, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one nephew, Michael Collins and two nieces, Kathleen and Patricia Collins. He was predeceased by one brother, William Collins.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave, Pascoag. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave, Pascoag. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Ste 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
