NO. SMITHFIELD- Joseph George (Sonny) Savard 75, resident of No. Smithfield RI died surrounded by his family at his home. Husband of the late Lucille (Beauregard) Savard.
Born in Woonsocket RI, a son of the late George & Jeannette (Belair) Savard.
He worked doing construction work for the former Durastone Flexicore Co. He also owned and operated Rogers Diner. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. A resident of North Smithfield since 1976, previously he lived in Woonsocket. He was a member of the Club Lafayette. He was an avid Red Sox fan; he enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, and taking trips to Foxwoods.
He is survived by his loving family, sons, Donald Savard and his wife Christine of N. Smithfield, and Thomas Savard and his wife Cheryl of N. Smithfield with whom he lived, daughters, Patricia Lacouture and her husband David of N. Smithfield, Pamela Ricci and her husband Dean of N. Smithfield, and Sharon Wilkins and her husband Eric of Chepachet. He is also survived by eleven loving grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Keene-Brown Funeral 445 Greenville Rd. North Smithfield with a Mass of Christian Burial 10am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham MA. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4pm until 8pm.
