Veterans photo shoot set for May 21

May 11, 2011

Roland Laramee is one of the Woonsocket veterans whose picture has appeared on our Military Page. The Call is asking area veterans to attend a photo shoot in downtown Woonsocket at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. The group photo will appear on the cover of our Memorial Day special section.

The Call will be taking a group photo of area veterans on Saturday, May 21, at the monument located at the intersection of Main and Court Street in downtown Woonsocket. We will take the photo at 1 p.m. sharp so please show up 15 minutes early.
The photo will appear on the cover of our May 30 Memorial Day special section.
If we get a big crowd, we will also take separate photos of veterans from each of the following eras: World War Two, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Gulf War/Iraq/Afghanistan. You do not need to be a combat veteran. Anyone who served in the military is welcome to attend.
Please bring an old military cap or small flag to liven up our photo.
If you can attend, please call Terry Nau at 401-523-6928 so we can get an early estimate of the crowd. Remember, it's 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the Main Street/Court Street monument.
Thanks in advance. We may also have a guest speaker as May 21 is Armed Forces Day.
