BELLINGHAM- Gene K. Wall, 59, of Bellingham, MA, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 23 years of Margaret A. (Haynes) Wall.
Born in Boston, MA on May 18, 1951, he was the son of Helen V. (Nickerson) Wall Chicoine of Bellingham and the late Troy W. Wall.
He was the loving father and grandfather of Troy L. Wall of Bellingham; Paul Pickett and his children Mackenzy and Jacob Pickett all of Virginia; William Cataldo III and his wife Emily and their children William IV and Blake Cataldo all of Blackstone; Rebecca Rankin and her husband Andrew and their daughter Katherine Rankin all of Quincy; Faith Vallani and daughter Justine Vallani both of Milford. He was the brother of Gerald T. Wall of Medway, Gary Wall of Bellingham and Robert Chicoine of Uxbridge.
A resident of Bellingham since 1960, formerly of the Roxbury section of Boston, he was a graduate of Bellingham High School Class of 1969. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force in October of 1969 serving during the Vietnam War and held the rank of Airman First Class. After his military service, he continued his education at Dean Junior College receiving his degree in Criminal Justice. He served as a Police Officer in the Town of Bellingham from 1973 until retiring in 1995 and held rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Bellingham Police Association and the Massachusetts Coalition of Police Local 121, and a member of the Franklin Elks. He loved his family, grandchildren and his dog Kirby, he will be missed by all.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 16, at 11:00AM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Final Interment will take place at Scott Cemetery, Center St., Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
