NO. SMITHFIELD- Monica "Mona" B. (Stefanik) Lagace-Lambert, 87, of No. Smithfield, passed away peacefully on Friday at the Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest A. Lagace and the late Armand A. Lambert.
Born, August 26, 1923 in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late John & Mary (Skalak) Stefanik.
Mona was employed at the St. Antoine Residence retiring in 1977 she previously worked at the former McCarthy's Dept. Store in Woonsocket.
She loved music, dancing & shopping. She was a very "smart dresser" and always liked to look nice.
She especially loved her family & friends very much and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by 3 sons: Dale E. Lagace of No. Smithfield, Kevin J. Lagace of Eagle, CO. & Richard J. Lagace of Belleair Bluffs, FL. 1 Stepson Ernest Lambert of Cumberland, a Stepdaughter Florence Messier of No. Smithfield and a brother Ernest T. (Pinky) Stefanik of Woonsocket. She was the loving Grandmother to 4 Grandchildren Ryan, Joel, Noel, & Addie Lagace, Step Grandchildren Michelle Pickering, Ernie Lambert, Roger, Donald, & Michael Messier & loving Great Grandmother to Step Great Grandchildren Britany & Kyle Pickering, Adam & Nicholas Lambert, Elizabeth, Emily, Molly, Miles, Stephen & Christopher Messier.
She was the sister of the late Edward, Joseph, Stanley Walter & Louise Stefanik, Rose & Stacia Jacobs, Amelia Merlet, Julia Feid, Josephine O'Hara & Sophie Merlet who just passed away on May 10th. She was also the aunt of the late Bobby Stefanick.
Her Funeral will be Wednesday (May 18th) at 8:30 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket, burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Slatersville. Relatives & Friends are invited. A visitation hour will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. 1 hour before the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 2348 Post Rd. Suite 104, Warwick, RI 02886.
