JOHNS ISLAND, SC- Georgette M. (Mandeville) Morin, 101, long-time resident of Woonsocket, died Sunday, April 24 at Harvest Rehab and Nursing Home in Johns Island, South Carolina. She was the devoted wife of Raymond J. Morin for fifty years before his passing in 1985.
Born in Sorel, Quebec, Canada, she was one of thirteen children. The family moved to Woonsocket when Georgette was a child.
She was employed as a sales clerk and manager at Kornstein's Clothing Store on Main Street for many years until her retirement in 1975. She was also an active member of the Trinity Club during her years in Woonsocket. In 1989, she moved to Missouri to live with her daughter and son-in-law, and then relocated with them to retire in South Carolina.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Mary Bolte, of Seabrook Island, SC, one sister, Florette Mandeville, two brothers, Gaston and Roger Mandeville, all of Woonsocket, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Colonel Raymond J. Morin, Jr. (Retired), of Round Hill, VA.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:30 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 190 North Main Street, Woonsocket, RI followed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA
