Paul E. Cagnon Sr.

BURRILLVILLE- Paul E. Cagnon Sr., 81, resident of Pascoag, died Monday, May 16, 2011 with his family by his side, at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the husband of Lucienne (Gagnon) Cagnon, whom he married Oct. 23, 1954.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Paul A. and Rose (Lemay) Cagnon.
Paul worked as a foreman for many years. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #17. Paul was an avid sportsman and a youth hockey coach in Burrillville. He became a pro shuffleboard player in Florida. He was an Airman 2nd Class in the 102nd Squadron of the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the DAV and VFW Post 1023.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Paul Cagnon Jr. of Cranston, Richard Cagnon of Pascoag, Roger Cagnon of Upton, MA and John Cagnon of Worcester, MA, two daughters, Diane Marchessault of North Providence and Jacqueline Allemann of Mt. Vernon, NY, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the twin brother of the late Norman Cagnon.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 9 am from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave, Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Burrillville. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
