BELLINGHAM- Rosamond O. (Burr) Staples, 88, of Bellingham, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Halsey A. Staples.
Born in Bellingham, MA on June 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Olive M. (Briggs) Burr.
She was the loving mother of David A. Staples of Bellingham, Steven G. Staples and his wife Ann of Blackstone, Richard A. Staples and his wife Karen of Bellingham, Donald P. Staples and Jeannette of Franklin, Rosemary A. Daley and Albert of Holliston, Marilyn J. Mahoney of Bellingham. She was the loving grandmother to her cherished 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Virginia Farrell of Narragansett, RI, and the late Howard R. Burr, Sr., and the late Harold C. "Johnny" Burr, Jr.
A lifelong resident of Bellingham and graduate of Bellingham High School, she was an inspector at US Rubber for many years until their closing. Mrs. Staples was a member of the First Baptist Church Bellingham Center. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 10:00AM at the First Baptist Church, Bellingham Center. Interment will follow at the Scott Cemetery, Center St., Bellingham. Calling hours are on Monday, May 23, at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. To sign guest book visit
