NORTH SMITHFIELD- Sophie M. (Cybulski) Marchwicki, 88, of Oak Hill Ave., died Friday, May 20, 2011 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Edward J. Marchwicki whom she married May 23, 1948.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Marian and Mary (Rudick) Cybulski.
Mrs. Marchwicki was a homemaker, but before her marriage, she was employed by the Nationwide Roofing Co. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Edward J. Marchwicki, Jr. and his wife Brenda L. of Pawtucket and John M. Marchwicki and his wife Kim of East Greenwich and two step-granddaughters, Melissa Burdon of Jamestown and Jessica Burdon of East Greenwich. She was the sister of the late Olga Reilly.
Her funeral, beginning with visitation at 9:30AM, will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 No. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
