NEWPORT- Helen J. (Mostek) Sikonski, a resident of the Forest Farm Health Care Center in Middletown passed away peacefully on Friday at the Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward Sikonski.
Born: June 28, 1921 in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Stanislaus & Aniela (Struzik) Mostek, she resided in Bellingham, MA. most of her life before moving to Newport 15 years ago.
Helen was a clerk for 25 years at her family business the former Mostek's Hardware Store in Bellingham until the store closed. She was a devoted member & communicant of the Polish National Catholic Church in Woonsocket which she always loved, she also was a member of the parish Ladies Adoration Sodality. She loved spending time with her children & grandchildren.
She was the loving mother to 2 Sons, Edward M. & his wife Maryellen Sikonski of Holden, MA., John S. & his wife Barbara Sikonski of Nixa, MO a daughter whom she resided with before entering the health center Christine A. Block of Newport a brother Walter J. Mostek of Phoenixville, PA. She was the loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren, Michael, Ellen, Nicholas, Julie Aniela, & Anna Rae. She was the sister of the late Joseph Mostek & Ann Rouleau.
Her Funeral will be Wednesday June 15th at 9:30 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Requiem Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in the Polish National Catholic Church of Our Saviour, 500 Smithfield Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited, Visitation hour will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
