Chester E. Romblad

COVENTRY - Romblad, Chester E., 95, of Woodland Dr., passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rose (Shipala) Romblad.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Kars) Romblad. He had been a resident of Coventry since 1983, formerly living in Woonsocket.
Chester served with the 5th Army, 88th Infantry Division during WWII and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was an inspector at the former Mine Safety Appliance in Smithfield for 30 years before retiring in 1980.
He is survived by three daughters, Shirley A. Romblad of Hinesville, GA, Patricia C. Antos and her husband Robert of Coventry and Barbara J. Pare` and her husband John of West Warwick; 3 granddaughters, Kristen Johnson, Marcia Sullivan and Amy Gregoire and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Viola Smith, Mildred Newlander, Carl Romblad, Hazel Miskiavitch and Agnes Solina.
His Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am in the R. A. IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., Coventry. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 would be appreciated.
