BLACKSTONE Franklin D. Dickie, 68, of Blackstone passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores A. (Desjarlais) Dickie.
Born in Fullerton, CA, he was the son of the late Franklin T. and Mildred L. (Reizes) Dickie.
He is survived by his loving children, Michael Dickie of Johnston, RI, Jonathon L. Doura of Blackstone, MA and his girlfriend Tara Saucier of Johnston, RI, Darlene Rose and her husband Juan of Connecticut, Nancy Russo and her husband Adrien of Hopedale, MA, Mary Yankin and her husband George of Willimantic, CT; and his 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Wanda Eikanger of Concord, CA and his twin sister Frances Hale of Pacifica, CA; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A longtime resident of Blackstone and graduate of Clayton Valley High School, Concord, CA, Frank was a filler operator at Garelick Farms for many years until retiring in 2009. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Frank enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was a member of the Millis Model Aircraft Club. He enjoyed going to air and car shows, working on cars, trucks and going fishing. Devoted to family, friends and the aircraft club, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00PM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours are from 5 to 7PM prior to funeral service. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Franklin D. Dickie may be made to the New England Air Museum, Bradley International Airport, 36 Perimeter Rd., Windsor Locks, CT 06096 would be appreciated.
