Anna L. Gaboury
BELLINGHAM, MA- Anna L. (Roy) Gaboury, 91, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and her wonderful caregivers at the Ballou Home in Woonsocket, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Omer R. Gaboury, who died December 25, 2008.
They were married on June 7, 1941, in the former St. Ann's Church in Woonsocket.
Anna was born April 5, 1920, in St. Francis Province of Quebec. Canada, the daughter of the late Urbain and Marie Louise (Ducheneau) Roy.
She is survived by her loving children, one son, Roger E. and his wife Linda (Gallagher) Gaboury, two daughters, Jacqueline C. and Donald Plouffe, and Paulette R. and Ettore Zazza, all of Bellingham. She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers, Henry Roy of Apple Valley, Calif., and Urban Roy of North Smithfield, RI, and one sister, Rita Cousineau of Woonsocket. She was predeceased by tow brothers, Joseph Roy of Woonsocket and Alfred Roy of Bellingham, and five sisters, Delima Brissette of Woonsocket, Marie Brule of Bellingham, Georgianna Rondeau of Woonsocket, Rose Guerin of Florida and Cecilia Plasse of California.
A longtime resident of Bellingham, MA, she worked in the textile industry as a mender, burler and specker for over 20 years until retiring. She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church in Bellingham. She was past president of the former Franco-American Club and past president of the Ladies of St. Ann's. She was a member of the Good Sam's Rolling RVs camping club and Fan C Squares square dancing club. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, swimming in the family pool, walking and was an expert pie-makers. She had a great retirement, enjoying life, and traveling throughout the country, visiting friends and family, and spending winters in Florida. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral will be held on Monday, June 27th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting are on Sunday, June 26th from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
