BURRILLVILLE- Helen F. (Zontek) Fortin, 88, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Leo J. Fortin whom she married Aug. 16, 1947, they lived in Pascoag.
Born in Southern Poland she was the daughter of the late Simon Zontek and Aniela (Adamczyk) Pelczar.
Helen worked as a Mender for area textile mills, a waitress for Wright's Farm Restaurant in Nasonville. She was a seamstress and she worked for Zambarano Hospital in Foodservice before retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Pascoag. She loved Ballroom Dancing, Sewing & Knitting and Traveling.
Besides her husband she is survived by a son Jeffrey J. Fortin and his wife Rrea of Smithfield, two daughters Mary L. White and her husband Sam of North Kingstown, Ann J. Fortin of Pascoag, a brother Edward Zontek of Kalispell MT, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Daughter Carol F. Fortin.
Her funeral will be held Friday July, 8, 2011 at 9AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10AM in St. Joseph's Church, Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Pascoag. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph's Church Fund, 183 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, 02859.
