BLACKSTONE- Rene "Bucky" L. Gauthier, 82, of Blackstone St., Blackstone, MA passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Pearl V. (Plante) whom he married June 26, 1948.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lionel and Leah (Breault) Gauthier.
Mr. Gauthier worked in construction for the Laborers' Union Local 138, Norwood, MA. He was also employed by several local cemeteries and by Electric Boat, Groton, CT for twelve years. Rene enjoyed the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, gardening and especially his family.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, David Gauthier and his wife Sandra of Uxbridge, MA and Gary Gauthier and his wife Gail of Pawtucket, a daughter, Celeste Johnson and her husband Barry of Deltona, FL, a brother, Louis Gauthier of Blackstone, a sister, Claudette Boucher of Uxbridge, six grandchildren, Gary, Linda and Phillip Gauthier, Andrea and Natalie Barbrie and Seth Johnson and a great granddaughter, Giselle Gauthier. He was the father of the late Diane Gauthier.
His funeral will be held Monday, July 11, 2011 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Theresa's Cemetery, Nasonville. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
