WOONSOCKET- Betty R. McNaul of Maguire Rd, No. Providence, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Warren Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Warren, MA.
Born in Woonsocket, where she lived for fifty-eight years, she lived the remainder of her life in No. Providence.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marion L. (Paul) McNaul, brother William McNaul, brother-in-law Robert Morin and brother-in-law David Gustafson.
She worked at Uniroyal in Woonsocket for twenty-five years before retiring in 1970. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellingham and former member of the First Baptist Church of Woonsocket. Betty was also a former member of the Woonsocket Senior Citizens.
She was known for her sharp dressing and sense of fashion. Betty loved hats and purses to go with her impeccable outfits. She loved to sing and sang in her church choir for many years. Betty was very determined and fought through many illnesses over the years. She finally succumbed to a brain tumor that resulted in rapid dementia. She was singing until the end.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Joe) Mason of Bellingham, Robert (Sally) McNaul of Bellingham, Donald (Sue) McNaul of Lincoln, Martha (Jerry) Clark of Eden Prairie, MN and Dorothy Gustafson of Victoria, MN as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
The family wishes to thank all of her care givers during illnesses, Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehab, her Hospice team and a very special thank you to Janet from Visiting Angels and Beacon Hospice.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, No. Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation, Northern & Southern New England Chapter, 2348 Post Road, Suite 104, Warwick, RI or the American Cancer Society, Inc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
