BLACKSTONE- Violette T. "Vi" (Cartier) Remillard, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Edgar G. Remillard.
Born in Woonsocket on April 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Aoure (Rondeau) Cartier.
She was the loving mother of Ronald N. Remillard and his wife Dianne of Woonsocket, Muriel M. Deshaies and her husband Richard of Blackstone, Jeannine V. Chevrette of Woonsocket and the late Edgar G. Remillard, Jr.; and her cherished 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Alma Boisseau of Woonsocket and the late Ovila "Pete" Cartier.
A resident of Blackstone for 63 years formerly of Woonsocket, she was employed at Mark Steven Warehouse for 21 years until retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Blackstone. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone. Interment will follow at St. Theresa Cemetery, Nasonville, RI.
Visiting hours are on Wednesday, July 20, from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
