WALLINGFORD, CT- Doris Mary Blazejewski Linton, 84, of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Robert Linton.
Doris was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, March 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank Blazejewski and Valaria Kukla Blazejewski and had been a Wallingford resident for 54 years. She was employed by both the Cigna and Aetna Insurance Companies. Doris volunteered with the Literacy Program at the Wallingford Public Library and also was a tutor at Parker Farms Elementary School in Wallingford. She was a member of the Wallingford Garden Club, and an avid fan of both the Womens and Mens UCONN Basketball Teams.
She is survived by her six daughters, and sons-in-law Nancy Linton and John Sullivan of Cheshire, CT., Barbara Linton Pelletier of Barkhamstead,CT., Doreen Linton and Larry Stevenson of West Hartford, CT., Catherine Linton and Eric Jackson of Collinsville, CT., Joyce Linton-Asermely and Andrew Asermely of Killingworth, CT., and Sharon Linton Tortora of Guilford, CT; her 6 grandchildren, Ivy and Andrew Linton Stabell, Robert and Elise Linton Pelletier and Anthony and Carly Tortora; and her brother Thomas Blazejewski and his wife Florence of Rhode Island. She was predeceased by her daughter June Patricia Linton; and her brother Frank Blazejewski.
The family thanks the entire staff of The Hearth at Ashlar Village and the Hospice staff at Masonicare for their loving care of our mother.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Thursday, (TODAY) from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in The Wallingford Funeral Home, Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven, Literacy Resource Center, 4 Science Park, New Haven, CT 06511.
